Scribble & Sew is an Australian owned business launched by Textile Designer Sophie Parry in 2017.
Creativity is, and always has been, the driving force in Sophie's life. From an early age she would always swap the dolls and toys for a pen and notepad. Sophie's creativity and passion for art led to an interest in fabrics, sewing and textiles. It was at university where Sophie found her feet in the textiles profession, developing the skills and techniques that would guide her on her own journey in textile design.
Upon graduating, Sophie left her hometown in Wales to experience different cultures around the world. Once settled in Australia, Sophie spent most of her time working with children as a professional nanny, this inspired her to combine her passion for textiles with her love of children. From there, the first Taggie Blanket was designed and made.
Scribble & Sew is a brand inspired by beautiful and vibrant colours alongside soft tones; each collection is unique, playful and fun.
Early childhood milestones play a large role in the design process of our staple collections and we work closely with early childhood professionals to fine tune our product designs.
In the future we hope to print our own fabrics from Sophie's drawings and paintings.
If you would like to see our products in person, please visit us at our pop-up store on Level 1 Westfield, Sydney.
Handmade & Thoughtful
We work hard throughout our design process, carefully selecting the right colour palettes to reflect our brand and values. Our style is playful, unique and on-trend. We handcraft every product right here in Sydney, ensuring we do not mass-produce and contribute to consumer waste.
Doing our part
Here at Scribble & Sew we care about the environment and the beautiful animals we share this world with. In 2019 we promised to bring change to the way we do things. We decided that by 2020, we will have fizzled out all single-use plastics and synthetic fabrics from our brand. We are making great progress with this promise and have already eliminated single-use plastics from our packaging. As for our materials, we are making conscious decisions about the fabrics we choose for future collections.
